We just found out that we are not the only ones experiencing slow photo loading on Kitka (we totally thought is was our lame Bell connection…high speed, yea right). Anyway, we are trying to rectify the situation so we apologize for any frustration!

We were very excited to get an email from Kitka reader Kate. She transformed this old lounge chair into something very unique.

I’ll let her explain…

“I am one of the people always competing for Vintage Hudson Bay blankets. I found one with a hole through the end stripe and made this chair, just thought I’d share it.
The first photo is the chair I started with…

“This was a project to honour a historical figure at art school, I chose Samuel Hearne, an HBC explorer.
The cushion is a map of one of his voyages.”
