A few weeks ago I wrote about the HiLo Kids Chair by AGE Design. Although covering kids stuff is not yet my forte, I’ve decided to share yet another innovative kids chair with you because I know there are tons of small space dwellers and minimalists out there.
The Danish designed minui HandySitt is a compact, lightweight and portable chair handcrafted out of FSC-certified Birch and Steel. It’s stamp of eco-friendliness continues with its formaldehyde-free paint and varnish finishes as well as a phthalate-free plastic guard (Yay!).
Useful for ages 6 months to 5 years, I think one of the best features is that you can take it with you when dining at restaurants or to grandma’s for Thanksgiving dinner. Plus it folds up and can be put out of sight when not in use.
Bonus: It can be used with your dining chairs! AND like the HiLo chair, it allows your children to sit at the table – a concept I am a big fan of.
Best of all, this is one example out of an increasing many where eco-friendly doesn’t have to mean expensive. You can purchase the HandySitt online for $149 USD (free shipping) or at shops in BC, Alberta, New Brunswick or Ontario. In Toronto, the ubiquitous modern kids store Ella & Elliott carries it, as does BB Buggy.
